Why this site exists
Siargao gives a lot to the people who visit it. This site is a small way of giving back — by making sure the money tourism brings actually reaches the islanders who run the carinderias, drive the boats, teach the surf lessons and keep the place magic.
What we do
- One honest directory. 75 spots across food, activities, sightseeing, shopping, nightlife and services — each checked against recent sources before it goes up.
- Reviews, collated. We pull together ratings from Google, Tripadvisor and other public sources (30k+ reviews and counting) so you see the full picture in one place, including the honest downsides.
- Local first. Locally-owned businesses are flagged, listed free, and never outranked by anyone paying for placement — because no one can pay for placement.
- Built for island internet. No trackers, no bloated images, pages a few kilobytes each. It loads on one bar of signal, and pages you've visited keep working offline.
What we don't do
- No paid rankings, no commissions, no booking fees.
- No fake reviews — the "what reviewers keep saying" summaries paraphrase real public review consensus, criticisms included.
- No pretending to be perfect: ratings are snapshots and island businesses change fast. See something stale? Tell us.
